Luke 10:

38 ¶ Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

John 12:1-8

1Six days before the Passover, Jesus therefore came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. 2So they gave a dinner for him there. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those reclining with him at table. 3 Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. 4But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (he who was about to betray him), said, 5"Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?" 6He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having charge of the moneybag he used to help himself to what was put into it. 7Jesus said, "Leave her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of my burial. 8For the poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me."

Think about this story and put yourself in it.

Lazarus: he just set there and watched, not realizing that Jesus raising him from the dead a few days earlier, had triggered the Jews into action to put Jesus to death (john 11:50-53), and him also.

Martha: she was busy doing a good thing, but not the best thing. Busy taking care of the needs of the people.

Mary: Sitting at the feet of Jesus, wanting to be close to Him, and to worship Him, to honor Him.

Think about how you worship God, think about entering into the Holy of Holies. Where God is.

Is your love for Him all you really want to express….

Think about ALL He has done for you, so many things, you have trouble remembering them all…

But you know you just want to praise, worship, and honor Him. Just you and Him, one on one. Not even thinking about what anyone else is doing. With a grateful heart we pour out our love for Him.

I really believe this is what He wants from us…

The Bible tells us that one of the highest and ultimate goals that God has in store for each one of us is our transformation - and this transformation is accomplished by the renewing of our mind. The Bible tells us that God wants sanctify us and transform us into the express image of His Son Jesus Christ. He wants to make us into a better and more holy people - both on the inside and the outside.
