Luke 19:41-44   THEY SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THE MESSIAH WAS DUE TODAY!!

 

41 Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it,

 

42 saying, "If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. 

 

43 For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, 

 

44 and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation."

HOW????   Daniels dream  “490 years”

Dan 9:24-26

 

24 "Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.

 

25 "Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command (the command was issued in Nehemiah 2:6 )  To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;(69 weeks of years 483 years) The street shall be built again, and the wall,  Even in troublesome times.

 

26 "And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

The 483 years are equal to 173880 days

62 (weeks) and 7 (weeks)

7 Weeks or 49 days  is what it took Nehemiah to rebuild the city. As the prophecy says, it was in troubled times. (see Ezra 9-10) (Nehemiah 1-2)

. After 69 weeks, Messiah will be cut off (Jesus was crucified)

. Jerusalem will be destroyed. (in AD 70 it happened)

IT WAS 173880 DAYS FROM  NEHEMIAH 2 TIL LUKE 19 -  445BC to 32AD.

 

2 Tim 2:15   Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

 

God expects us to know and understand also.

 

When Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the 10^th of Nissan, He knew He was GOD’s Lamb that the people should choose, (but they didn’t) so GOD let His lamb be sacrificed on the 14^th at twilight.

 

 

 

Paul told us in 1 Cor 5:7  For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

 

Look at Exodus 12   1 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, 2 "This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year. 3 Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household. 4 If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat. 5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats. 6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the people of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight. 7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs. 8 That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast. 9 Do not eat the meat raw or cooked in water, but roast it over the fire—head, legs and inner parts. 10 Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning, you must burn it. 11 This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the LORD's Passover.

 

Three days later He arose from the grave, on the 17^th Sunday morning.

 

Now look at this:  Genesis 8:1  But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. 2 Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky. 3 The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, 4 and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.

Now look at Exodus 14:21 this was 3 days after the Passover meal in Egypt.

(you can count the 3 camps to be sure)

21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, 22 and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.

It was on the 17^th they passed through the Red sea to safety…..

The Ark rested on the 17^th and brought them to safety.

And Jesus conquered death, hell and the grave on the 17^th  and has brought us into His safety..
